Supported by the European Commission (FP7 SME) the PV Servitor project's main objective is to improve the yield of photovoltaic power plants in europe. This is achieved by efficient cleaning with the aid of service robots to reduce the energy consumption costs in the long term by about 5 percent. http://en.pv-servitor.eu/ |

Dynamics e.V. represents the Formula Student team of the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences. The team currently consists of 61 students from several different faculties, and all semesters. The goal of the non-profit organisation is to help improve the level of education at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences by means of hands-on project work. Dynamics e.V. was founded in December of 2006 and our main supporters since then have been Prof. Rill and Prof. Langeloth from the mechanical engineering faculty. Twenty months have passed since then, and the project has proved to be a complete success. The students receive a high level of practical experience in applying theoretical knowledge to real world problems. The participants also obtain the chance to improve vital soft skills such as interdisciplinary teamwork, time management, and competence in subject specific methodologies.
Formula Student Formula Student is an international design competition where students design and build a single seat racing car, which is then used to compete against teams from around the world at the annual Hockenheimring event. However, winning the Formula Student Germany event isn't necessarily dependant on the fastest car. The goal is to design and build a single seat racing car for semi-professional drivers, with a technologically and economically viable concept for the production of 1000 units per year. Students are to conceive, design and manufacture the vehicle themselves, in order to enter it in both dynamic and static events. The regulations, consisting of the SAE rules as a base and the additional specific rules of FSG, provide the students with a comprehensive framework for the construction of their racing car. A high profile jury consisting of members of the automotive industry evaluate the technical and economical performance of the teams. The vehicles undergo several tests during the five day event at the legendary Hockenheimring. Further information can be found at www.formulastudent.de |

Development of a dosimeter for fast in-vivo detection of exposure to radiation Project description: Within the project RADICALS (Radiation Dosimetery using in-vivo Calcium L-Band-Spectrometry) a portable device is being developed. This will make the measurement of radiation exposure dosage in a living human possible. Humans exposed to radiation experience the breaking of molecular bonds in oxyapetite in teeth and bones. The loose molecular chain ends result in free oxygen radicals which can be measured in the same way as for carbon dating in archaeology. Electron spin (paramagnetic) resonance can be used for these purposes. Hitherto extraction of a tooth was necessary in order to produce a vague reconstruction or radical determination. |
